La Ronge Camping Trip August 4 -7, 2006

We had quite a summer camping. From Waskesieu we took an unplanned trip up to LaRonge. Nolan and Terralyne were heading up there to see her sister Sarah who is a dietitian up there. We were just pulling out of Waskesieu when the phone rang and it was suggested since we were so close, why not head up there too. After a two second discussion we said yep, let's go. It is certainly beautiful up there. The scenery is from a calendar. Very picturesque. The guys were hoping to fish one day while there but it didn't work out. We had a good time. The girls even got to pick fresh berries. The mosquitoes were so bad that night though we had to call it quits early. Great memories! We took a walk through the campsites which are beautiful by the way and while we were standing on the Canadian Shield on the water, a float plane flew right by us. We didn't have our cameras to capture that moment, but I got a picture of another float plane. You can see that Nolan, Sarah, Jon and the kids climbed some of the rock for a picture - I stayed back with Ty to take a picture. I doubt we will ever be back there again, but we loved it while there.

Waskesieu Trip July 30 - Aug 4, 2006

From The Taylor Reunion we headed to Waskesieu in the Prince Albert Nationl Park. Friends of ours Nolan and Terralyne Miller and their two girls, Mariah and Jade camped along with us. It was a great time - even though it rained pretty much all week long. When the sun would shine we would hop on our bikes and head into town. Of the five days we were there we only had a couple hours on the beach. Of course, we can't go camping without some ice cream and you can see here, Hayley sure enjoys hers!

Taylor Reunion July 28, 29 2006

The Taylor family is a huge family. Honestly, huge is an understatement. There are over 900 of us! This reunion took in about 350 of the 900. I can't imagine if eveyone could be there. It was such a blast. I married into this family - they are a gift to me. I love them all. So warm and generous, loving and friendly. No words can do justice. This was a weekend filled with visiting, eating, visiting, playing games, visiting and eating more! On Saturday evening there was some entertainment provided by family who wanted to put on skits, sing or what have you. After the entertainment was the much anticipated auction. Two family members are the 'acutioneers' and bidders bid on items donated by other family members. Pictured here are Jack and Becky Taylor. Jack was the highest bidder at the auction paying $1350 for this quilt with the original Taylor Family - the reason we are all here! There is nothing like family!

Good Spirit Lake July 25, 26 2006

On our way to the Taylor Reunion at Melfort we stayed at Good Spirit Lake for two days of relaxation. Good Spirit is a nice quiet place. Only one main shop that you can buy anything you want at. The camp sites are nice and clean, trees all around. And no matter where in the campground you are, you are only a hop skip and a jump from the silky sand covered beach. You can walk out into the water so far and the water is still only to your hips. The bottom is nothing but sand. I love that. You can bike all around, there is a nice play ground for the kids and the washrooms are very modern and clean! We will be travelling back there again this year but for more than two days. Can't wait!
