Project Life Layout, May 21 - May 27 {Week 21}

May 21- I have no picture of the horse sale at all, but I will slip our hotel bill into this pocket.



May 22 - This afternoon after Bible Study, it was time to de-worm the horses.  Here is my husband in action.

Sad news was received this afternoon.  Two years ago we purchased our acerage from Garth and Carley.  He was born and raised here, and at the young age of 76, he had to move because health was not on his side.  This afternoon after complications from heart surgery a month ago, Uncle Garth passed away into the presence of Our Lord.

May 23 - These lovely tulips that Carley planted before we purchased our acerage from them.  My daugher is going to pick these tulips and give them to Carley when she comes here on Wednesday.

May 24 - Happy Birthday to my Dad today!!!  The girls found this baby turtle on the edge of the lawn today.  There is a painted turtle that was nesting in the trees and I guess the babies have hatched.  The river is just across the road so I think that is where he was heading.  He is small, no bigger that a toonie.

May 25 - Here is my oldest riding bare back.  She LOVES LOVES her horses.  Yesterday spent over 6 hours outside with her 'Echo', today almost the equivalent in time.

May 26 - Uncle Garth and Aunty Carley are in the back row, on the left side.  This photo was taken about 5 weeks ago, these are his siblings and their spouses.  Today was his funeral.  He was 78.  He loved The Lord and is smiling now, because he is with The Lord.

May 27 - 4-H was cancelled because of the rain so we made a trip to Estevan for groceries.  We usually try to make a stop at Tim's just before hitting the road home.

Project Life Layout, May 14 - May 20 {Week 20}

May 14 - Today I did my first trade show.  Very poor turnout, BUT, I did well all the same.

May 15 - Lovely day, and we are all taking advantage of it.

May 16 - Working on the 4-H workbooks.  Achievment day is only 6 weeks away...!

May 17 - Out with daddy on the tractor.

May 18 - Just outside the door that we never use on our house the barn swallows have built a mud nest.  I don't have the heart to take it down, so it will remain until the babies leave the nest.

May 19 - My mom and dad came out for supper.  Here in 'grandma' playing ball with my youngest.

May 20 - Went to a horse sale and stayed overnight.  Here is my second daughter with her cousin.  This after a good 2 hours of swimming in the pool.  In no time, my girl was fast asleep.

Whew, I can't believe I finally got {Week 20} up on my blog.  I have been falling behind.

Project Life Layout, May 7 - May 13 {Week 19}

May 7  - Oh what a HOOT this was.  Last weekend my in laws were at our place so believe me, she didn't expect what happened to her today...For the last 3 months my sister in law (in the pink) has planned this surprise 60th birthday party for my mother in law.  My husband's other sister lives down where we live and we live 6 hours away from sister in law in the pink (she lives close to mother in law).  Yesterday my husband's sister and her family and our family all drove up to get things ready for today's big day.  Mother in law just thought that she was coming here this morning for a brunch with daughter and her family.  My sister in law had us stashed in a bedroom and when she opened the door here we were, and this was the expression I caught!  It was priceless!!!  It took a bit to register just what exactly was happening.  LOVE IT!!!

May 8 - My son in the green and his cousin having fun!  ALOT of FUN!!!!

May 9 - Here is some of the grandkids - there are 4 missing from this picture unfortunately.  What a great weekend it was!

May 10 - My son is trying out a new hair style...lol!!!  Kind of reminds me of one of the little kids from The Rascals.

May 11 - My youngest does have an attachment to his blankie.  Today it was found, after being lost for almost 1 1/2 weeks.  How do you lose a blanket in your house???  Someone, likely he himself, got it all wrapped up in a pillow sham and I never thought of looking in the pillow sham, mean while I basically ripped my house apart trying to find this blanket, only to come to the conclusion that he must have somehow stuck it in the garbage before the garbage was hauled out.  WOW, when I found it he grabbed it and wrapped himself in just like you see here.

May 12 - Three weeks ago I decided to become a Distributor for Unicity.  This is a company that sells alot of health and wellness products.  This  is unlike anything I have ever done before, EVER...(I used to work in an office before opting to stay at home to raise our children).  We have some debt on two credit cards and I want to pay them off before the end of the year so I have set some goals for myself.  For the Month of May I set a goal to reach 3000 points so I could qualify for my first company bonus, I was so amazed that I reached that goal before the middle of the month so I am so happy!  Maybe I will be able to pay that debt off even quicker.  The best part is, I am still at home with my kids!!!  (I am not going to use my blog to plug the company at all, this is just an exciting moment for myself as a goal was reached.)

May 13 - This is the devastation right across the road from us as the Souris River Flood of 2011 continues.  They say it is supposed to peak on Sunday.  The farm yard across the way is under water.  The house they live in was built up a bit, BUT, water in the basement, and everything else around them is in water.  This picture does not tell the story to it's fullest.  It is sad, but apparently necessary.  This was a controlled flood meaning that the dam was opened to let this water out on purpose and had they not, the dam may have broken and then the damage would be much more devastating.  Seems so unfair, here we are up on the hill over looking this and they are down there swimming.  You can hear the water rushing with the windows open.  I pray there will be some sort of government assistance in all of this or what are people to do?

Project Life Layout, April 30 - May 6 {Week 18}

April 30 - Another snow storm is keeping everyone in doors.  Yes, a snow storm on April 30...sigh....They are all playing a fun game.  I do not know what it is called but, everyone sitting is an animal..a cat, or a dog, or an elephant or whatever animal they choose.  What you do is before the person in the center has a chance to hit you on the leg you have to say what animal you are and follow it with another animal in the circle.  For example, I am a cat and my mother in law is a dog, so I have to say cat - dog really fast and the person in the center has to try to hit the 'dog' before she can say dog - another animal, and so on.  It is so much fun for the kids to play.  The giggles were awesome!!

May 1 - This does not look bad, but this is the result of yesterday's storm.  It seemed bad yesterday  because the wind was ferocious and visibility was zero.

May 2 - Already as you can see, most of the snow from Saturday's storm is already gone.  My youngest unearthed this toy that was in the garden I believe it got left out over winter...he was so excited and proud...look mommy, I found it...!

Okay, weigh in day.  What an amazing result.  It is the jumpstart I needed again as it seemed I really didn't change at all in April.  Drum roll please.........................................down 3 lbs!!!!!  I am officially only 10 lbs away from my epiphanie hand bag!!!!!. 

May 3 - So this is what happens when you tell them not to draw on the side of the house....they draw on the side of the house...next time I will tell them to draw on the house, then they likely won't...LOL!  What I love about this shot is this is daily life right.  I have to say that this has been the most amazing year of documenting our lives.  I am so thankful for Project Life!  I take note of almost everything now.  Thank you Becky!

May 4 - The daffodils are blooming, so very pretty.

May 5 -  I can't blame anyone else for this except myself.  I am always telling the kids to make sure they put the lid on the jar tight, no matter what is in it.  This morning I did NOT put the lid on the the peanut butter jar tight and to top that off, I did not push it back out of reach of my little 3 yr old.  I thought he was downstairs playing and I was in my bedroom cleaning when he walks in and looks 'dirty'.  I come out to the kitchen to find this...it was everywhere, on the island, on the floor, on the rug in front of my oven, oh just everywhere.  Somehow in this crazy moment I had my witts about me enough to go and grab the camera.

May 6 - This is evidence of the flooding that is being faced in Saskatchewan right now.  This is the Qu'Appelle Valley.  Normally, this is all grass with a small trickle right in the centre, as you can see, it is no longer just grass.  The volume of water here is staggering and this shot doesn't really show how bad it is, but for the people that live right here, it is not ideal.

I can already foretell that as we are approaching the summer months, I feel as though my Project Life blogging may take a back seat to life.  If that happens, so be it, I will still continue to take pictures and document my life.  But that being said, continuing to blog every week has kept me right on track so, I am going to make a concious choice to keep doing my best and pray that by the end of summer, I am not two months behind...
